Melrose Health is an Australian family owned company. As Australia’s leading organic oil manufacturer, Melrose takes pride in being independent, competitive, flexible, fully integrated and able to meet consumer requirements. As a manufacturer, distributor, wholesaler and exporter, Melrose has the infrastructure to continue in the fine tradition of working closely with retailers, practitioners and therapists.
Mr Geoff Steinicke is the creative and inspirational energy behind the company. His knowledge and expertise as a chemist, emulsion and oil technologist has been the driving force behind one of the most respected and ethical companies of today.
Geoff has made a significant contribution to the complimentary healthcare industry and as a pioneer his commitment is still as strong as it was when the company was founded in 1978. His wife Judy is a pharmacist, and together they have built a very successful business, trading profitably in every year. Sales have steadily increased by an average of almost 14% each year for the past 10 years.
Melrose Laboratories holds a therapeutic goods processing licence and are certified Organic by ACO, the organic certifying arm of the Biological Farmer Association.

Flaxseed Oil
The discovery in 1985 that our entire population was deficient in Omega-3 fats, one of the two essential fatty acids, led to the world wide search for the richest source of Omega-3 - Flaxseed oil.
Supplies of Organic Flaxseed Oil were initially obtained from Canada with further supplies from New Zealand and Australia.
Since 1996 Melrose has been sourcing Flaxseed oil from Four Leaf Oils at Tarlee, South Australia. This facility produces organic oils by cold process (less than 35°C) in the absence of air and light. The freshly pressed oils are transported to Melrose for bottling under nitrogen in light opaque tanks.
Flaxseed Oil is the richest source of Omega-3 fatty acids with 60%, whilst oils such as Cod Liver Oil and Fish Oil contain between 20 and 30% Omega 3.
The other essential fatty acid is Omega-6 which is present in most vegetable oils. Examples include Sunflower and Safflower Oils. There is no shortage of Omega 6 in the modern diet. Our bodies cannot survive without these essential fatty acids.

Distribution Channels
Melrose Health manufactures and markets a range of proprietary products that are distributed through health food stores, practitioners and some pharmacies. A small range is also distributed through supermarkets, Australia-wide. Products are also exported to New Zealand, Malaysia, Singapore, Korea, Japan and Bahrain.

Product Range
The product range manufactured includes: Vitamin C powder in sachets, Barley and Wheat grass, Shampoos, Conditioners, Bath products, Castile liquid soaps, Body products, Nutritional Supplements, Organic vegetable oils (including Omega Flaxseed oil), Omega spreads, Norwegian 18/12 Fish oil, Cod Liver Oil, Eucalyptus and Tea tree oils, food products such as nut spreads, tahini, apple and pear juice concentrates, apple cider vinegar, mayonnaise and mustard.
Contract manufacturing of liquids is also performed.
Melrose has a 1000 sqm manufacturing facility producing 250 individual products with an organic emphasis.
